I was pretty excited to jump into it because both Chloe and I have a very similar taste in romance. Dating You, Hating You was definitely a cute and funny read. I would definitely compare it to The Hating Game by Sally Thorne in terms of the banter that occurs throughout the book. My biggest problem with this book though was that it just fell a bit flat for me.

Christina Lauren. You won’t want to miss Evie and Carter in Dating You/Hating You. near you. Oh, and don’t forget to add it on Goodreads!

As you can guess from the title, I am still very much on my rom-com train. Also there is much irony in this. As one who used to—shamefully—crap on the romance drama, I am now becoming a binge reader of it…. I stick to contemporary, which is odd because I am a such a hardcore fantasy reader. I have the goal to read a fantasy-romance soon though. Once I find the right one. I liked the characters, despite the fact that I was calling them both idiots every five seconds.

All’s fair in love and work. The first stand-alone romance by New York Times best-selling author Christina Lauren Beautiful Bastard is a sexy, compulsively listenable romantic comedy that dives headlong into the thrill and doubt of modern love. Despite the odds against them from an embarrassing meet-awkward at a mutual friend’s Halloween party, Carter and Evie immediately hit it off. Even the realization that they’re both high-powered agents at competing firms in Hollywood isn’t enough to squash the fire.

But when their two agencies merge – causing the pair to vie for the same position – all bets are off. What could have been a beautiful blossoming romance turns into an all-out war of sabotage. Carter and Evie are both something professionals – so why can’t they act like it? Can Carter stop trying to please everyone and see how their mutual boss is really playing the game? Can Evie put aside her competitive nature long enough to figure out what she really wants in life?

Can their actor clients just be something close to human? Some of their steamy contemporary romances are ones I revisit often because I love the chemistry they create.

Dating You/Hating You by Christina Lauren

By: Christina Lauren. This was not that book. Evie and Carter find themselves fighting for the same position at her company after a merger. It was set up similar to The Hating Game , but was nothing like that. Instead of enemies to lovers it ended up more like friends to kinda disliking a thing they did.

Workplace enemies to lovers trope? How about lovers to workplace enemies? Christina Lauren’s new standalone romance Dating You Hating.

The following will be an open and honest review. You guys…. I have seriously come to the conclusion that I will love every single thing that these two lovely ladies put out. I first read and loved the Wild Seasons books and then quickly moved onto the Beautiful Bastard series which I also devoured. They will never cease to make you laugh, cry, and blush profusely.

I definitely enjoyed this one in particular as it had some angst in the form both MCs, Carter and Evie dubbed Evil , fighting for the same position at their merged company. It was an interesting take on the hating to loving trope because they had met BEFORE the chaos started and really hit it off. So that spark was there the entire time, even while the fighting commenced.

I have not laughed out loud so many times at a book in quite awhile which was a relief after the emotional roller coaster that was ACOWAR. You are commenting using your WordPress.
